The Design & Research Institute of Ships & Offshore Engineering of BSIC, which was founded together by former Technical Center of Head Quarter and former Technique Section of Shipbuilding Branch in Jan.2008 and now has 172 professional designers in ten professional function departments including product developing department, ship structure department, engine installation department, electricity department, accommodation decoration department, engineering method department, computing department, marketing department and administration department, etc., is a professional design and developing center being mainly engaged in shipbuilding design, with grade A design competency of fishing ships and with many kinds of advanced production and design software such as COMPASS computing analysis software, PATRAN/NASTRAN finitude meta analysis software, NAPA design software, and CADDS5.0, TRIBON M3, SHDSM, CADWIN formula software, etc..
The Ship Design & Research Institute, under the principle of “Serve the society and design the advanced product of ships”, has completed tens of design projects of large sized ships early or late, based on its efforts of “Standing on BSIC, facing to market, trying to go forward, and keeping deploitation and innovation”.
